14 DAYS – HANOI TO NHA TRANG
Following the iconic Top Gear Vietnam journey in reverse, this unforgettable adventure begins in Hanoi and finishes in the coastal city of Nha Trang. Riders will experience remote back-roads, wartime history, dramatic mountain passes, ethnic minority regions, lush countryside, and the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail.
Expect outstanding riding, warm hospitality, incredible culture, and memories that last a lifetime.
PRE-TOUR ARRIVAL – HANOI
PRE-TOUR ARRIVAL – HANOI
Guests arrive in Hanoi the day before the tour officially begins. Airport transfers and hotel accommodation are provided.
This is a relaxed evening to settle in, explore the Old Quarter, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 1:
HANOI (City Ride & Welcome Dinner)
Today we officially begin the tour. After breakfast, riders meet for the tour briefing and bike allocation.
We then enjoy a relaxed half-day ride through Hanoi and its surrounding districts. This is the ideal chance to familiarise yourself with the bikes and get comfortable with Vietnam’s riding style while taking in historic streets and local neighbourhoods.
We return to the hotel for a second overnight stay, followed by a group welcome dinner and the chance to get to know your fellow riders and crew.
Day 2:
HANOI TO MAI CHAU
Leaving the capital behind, we head west into the countryside. The scenery quickly transforms into rice fields, small towns, and winding rural back-roads before climbing into the mountains. We arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau valley in time to enjoy the views and a relaxing evening in a peaceful ethnic minority region.
Day 3:
MAI CHAU TO QUAN SON
Today’s ride features sweeping mountain scenery, villages, terraced farmland, and quiet roads as we travel deeper toward the Laos border. A truly authentic look at regional Vietnam.
Day 4:
QUAN SON TO TAN KY
We continue toward the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, riding through limestone landscapes and agricultural countryside. A rewarding day on the road before reaching the rural town of Tan Ky.
Day 5:
TAN KY TO PHONG NHA
We continue toward the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, riding through limestone landscapes and agricultural countryside. A rewarding day on the road before reaching the rural town of Tan Ky.
Day 6:
PHONG NHA CAVES
A full rest day to enjoy the region.
We explore the famous Phong Nha cave system by boat and visit the incredible Paradise Cave – vast caverns of dramatic rock formations and hidden chambers. A highlight of the journey.
Day 7:
PHONG NHA TO KHE SANH
Back on the bikes as we continue along remote backcountry routes before reaching Khe Sanh, a major historical location of the Vietnam War. Time is available to visit the former combat base and museum.
Day 8:
KHE SANH TO HUE
We make our way toward the coast and ride into Hue, Vietnam’s former Imperial capital. Hue offers a fascinating mix of history, culture, great food, and riverside views. The evening is free to explore.
Day 9:
HUE TO HOI AN (Via Hải Vân Pass)
An iconic Top Gear day! We ride south along the coast before tackling the famous Hải Vân Pass, known for its flowing curves and magnificent ocean vistas. We then continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hội An to enjoy its lantern-lit streets and vibrant atmosphere.
Day 10:
HOI AN (REST DAY)
A free day to explore at your own pace. You can shop in the Old Town, visit ancient sites, enjoy a massage, take a cooking class, or spend a few hours relaxing at the beach or by the river.
Day 11:
HOI AN TO KON TUM
We leave the coast and travel inland into Vietnam’s Central Highlands. The ride passes through forested valleys, plantations, and rural minority villages before an overnight stay in Kon Tum.
Day 12:
KON TUM TO LAK LAKE
More highland scenery today as we ride through small settlements and agricultural regions before reaching the tranquil lakeside at Lak Lake, known for traditional stilt-house villages and peaceful surroundings.
Day 13:
LAK LAKE TO DA LAT
We climb further into elevated scenery toward Da Lat, a cool-climate mountain city known for lakes, pine forests, waterfalls, and colonial architecture. A scenic and enjoyable day on the road.
Day 14:
DA LAT TO NHA TRANG
Our final riding day takes us down twisting mountain passes from the highlands to the sunny coastal city of Nha Trang. A celebratory final dinner marks the end of an epic journey through the heart of Vietnam.
