This action-packed tour is styled around the BBC Top Gear Vietnam special.

Join like-minded riders on this truly amazing ride through the most spectacular roads of Vietnam. If you ask us, the Top Gear show simply did not do it justice. We retrace some of roads and sights of the Top Gear special, but also include the best roads that were missed.

Tour the real Vietnam, adventuring through the Central Highlands and famous Ho Chi Minh Trail - stunning mountain roads, coastline, small remote villages, beaches and jungle. This tour has got the lot! It's well and truly packed full of adventure. But there's also plenty of time to stop and admire the views, chat to hospitable locals, and dine on the region’s famous fresh food.

Day 1: 200km
Hanoi - Nghia Lo
Good morning, Vietnam. The day we’be all be waiting for has arrived. checked out from our hotel and luggage packed in our support van followed by a rider briefing before making a short journey to our awaiting bikes. its a slow paced ride through the bustling streets of Hanoi . our first day takes us on meandering roads, up the mountains via spectacular passes and into the Red River valley, into the cradle of Vietnamese civilization.

It was here, on the swelled banks of the large, mud-red-river that the first Vietnamese kings ruled thousands of years ago. We wind through crops fields, along river-dikes, through old towns, until we arrive at Nghia Lo. our welcoming hotel arrival chilled drinks and dinner in the evening is pumped with energy from today adventures.
 
Day 2: 240km

good morning Vietnam! We ride over
the Hoang Lien Son Range, Vietnam’s highest and most
brooding mountains. Riding our way across the rugged
highlands, we’ll see a region of Vietnam that very few
travelers are yet to experience. heading for the green embrace of Mai Chau valley, with mists rising off the paddy fields we continuing our journey through the twisting back-roads through picture perfect landscapes. As we arrive on the Moc Chau plateau the trees fade away to reveal acres of tea plantations.
Hours of superb riding with plenty of stops to admire the scenery, we roll into Mai Chau, a pleasant valley of green rice paddies & traditional homes, a simplistic and peaceful way of life.  its like stepping back in time. Our comfortable, atmospheric Home stay lodgings for a night located in a Vietnamese countryside village . "one of the most popular overnight stays". complete with a pool and spectacular views. home cooked foods here are amazing & ice cold brews! evening entertainment is a very impressive traditional song & dance by local performers.
 
Day 3: 110km
Mai Chau - Quan Son
Breakfast by the pool overlooking the surrounding farmland, before our farewell to our overnight hosts.  morning ride and landscape is magical. A series of lofty mountain passes through remote valleys and over limestone peaks covered in mysterious bamboo forests close to the Lao border. the region has retained traces of national cultures. the attraction lies in the natural beauties almost untouched.

Today’s ride gives us a sense of what it’s like for many of the more than 50 different ethnic minority groups in Vietnam to live in such mountainous landscape, with most of their food & building materials coming from the immediate vicinity, just as it has done for centuries. Quan Son is a small mountainside village. our hotel stay is a little more basic. but still has private rooms hot showers air-con and WiFi.  dinner is at local restaurant and welcoming host . cooler temps in these regions is not uncommon .
Day 4: 240km
Quan Son - Tan Ky
Time to saddle up!, as we ride beyond the map into a hidden world where time has stood still for centuries, on small twisty road that takes us deep through mountain landscapes dotted with traditional tiny minority hamlets of wooden and thatched huts nestled by streams under huge limestone bamboo covered mountains.

A simple way of life with bamboo waterwheels feeding rice terraces, roaming livestock. Life here is simple and rich in culture, women, and children in traditional dress. "Jurassic Park landscape" riders say! they just cannot believe the sheer beauty here. To this day we are the only ones who have the pleasure riding this secret location. We enjoy roadside picnic lunch . afternoon has us connecting to the Ho Chi Min trail "road" with our overnight hotel located in Tan Ky. a small city.
Day 5: 270km
Tan Ky - Phong Nha
We start today's ride on straight open section of Ho Chi Minh road through rural farming land. dotted with tea plantations which are popular through these regions. as we edge closer to UNESCO World Heritage site Phong Nha, our road takes us on a superb journey through a valley between karst mountains covered in dense jungle .

Phong Nha is one of the few places on earth yet to be completely discovered. Phong Nha is home to the worlds biggest cave- Song Dong "its said to be 3 millions years old" Phong Nha is known as the Adventure Capital of Asia . welcome to our hotel stay on the Son River . enjoy the nearby village centre which has lots of bars and restaurants everything from local foods to pizza.   massages are always after another day of incredible motorcycling adventure  
Day 6:
Exploring Phong Nha Caves

Enjoy a fresh brew overlooking the Son river and lush green jungle covered mountains. 9am, we board our boat for a relaxing journey
upriver to enter the Phong Nha cave. Voted as one of the most wonderful caves in the world, its said to be nearly 8km long, while scientists have surveyed 44km of passages.
Son river was used to transport troops and supplies, hiding weapons deep in jungle caves. before making route to battle fronts.  Phong Nha suffered endless bombings throughout the American war. Bomb craters scars can still be seen close the cave entrance. our boat takes us inside the cave around 1km before we explore the cave by foot. The cave is filled withspectacular Stalactites and Stalagmites and has lighting installed throughout. “Big” is an understatement and the sheer beauty is a sensory overload. You feel like you’re in the centre of the earth.Returning along the Song Con River with great views of the traditional villages. Back out our hotel there's time to chill before lunch.The afternoon sees us heading across to Paradise Cave. Discovered in 2005, this cave is 31 kilometers long and in places, the cave can reach 72 meters high and 150 meters wide. Massive Stalactites and Stalagmites fill this cave. its a bit of hike . so if you not feeling up for it .  you might prefer to relax back in town or book in for a nice relaxing massage . afternoon chill to  enjoy village life and the array of small bars and restaurants. Phong Nha is a true gem .
Day 7: 270km
Phong Nha - Khe Sanh
Regarded by the lucky few who have ridden the Western Ho Chi Minh trail, regarded as one of the best motorcycling roads on earth. Twisting and turning its way through spectacular "Jurassic Park like" limestone mountains covered in lush green jungle filled with crystal clear waterfalls and wild rivers. This pristine wilderness is still home to many rare animals including elephants and tigers.

Gibbons are sometimes seen crossing the roads as we ride through the Ke Bang National Park and UNESO World heritage Site. Containing the oldest Karst mountains in Asia, formed over 400 million years, riddled with over 300 hundred cave systems including the biggest cave on earth,  Son Doong, discovered in 2009. Today's ride is mind blowing and best described as a rider’s paradise with over a thousand bends.  picnic style lunch picture in a small village, the afternoon delivers more great riding through this very special part of the world. as we edge closer to Khe Sanh a large number of wind turbines have been installed through the battle scared landscape.  We ride into town and visit the old Khe Sanh Marine Base. "Ta Con Air Base" today its home to a small museum filled with historical pictures, a somewhat chilling reminder of what occurred here, there are maps and weapons on display, additionally old aircraft remains including a complete C130 Hercules, Chinook Helicopter and old fighter jet wreckage surround the old airstrip.time for a group photo at Khe Sanh Victory monument erected by the Vietnamese government which lays tribute to the men and women who fought in the battle of Khe Sanh. overnight hotel stay in Khe Sanh
Day 8: 170km

A superb day ahead! We push onward through lesser known back roads following the Da Krong River, impressive sweeping bends with massive views across the valley and surrounding hillside villages. Who are all these friendly people waving at? That would be you!  The welcoming smiles and waves all the way through. this great land is a very warming experience.
the afternoon ride has us arriving through the streets of the former Imperial capital of Hue "Home of the last Vietnamese Emperors”. A world Heritage site. Located on the banks of the Perfume River.  after checking in, you have the option to join us on a visit to Citadel the Imperial City with palaces and shrines .  Enjoy a great overnight stay and rooftop pool. Surrounding our hotel is a great selection of excellent restaurants and bars and shop-houses.
Day 9: 120km
Hue - Danang -Hoi An
Good morning Vietnam!  ride the out through the bustling streets of beautiful Hue, we hug the coastline through road lined with village homes and shop-houses. lunch is by a lake and followed by some mountain road tunnels before reaching the famous Hai Van Pass as seen on the famed BBC Top Gear Vietnam special.

twisty mountain road with its spectacularocean views, we then thread our way though the backstreets of Dan Nang and along the beach road before arriving at the UNESCO heritage-listed town of Hoi An. Known for its abundance of tailors, Hoi An is an exceptionally well preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this iconic site. After 10 days in the mountains we say goodbye to our trusty steeds that have shown us this truly remarkable country .

Hoi An has a peaceful charm. its nice to enjoy a morning coffee with one of the many street vendors  after a great night rest, its time to explore on foot and the best way to absorb the beauty of this city. Hoi An is recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO the small yet beautiful town with its own unique atmosphere combines elements of Vietnam, China and Japan. 
Day 10: Vietnam
Hoi An
The most remarkable views are from the ancient houses, reminding us of a long gone past and providing a momentary glimpse of a more subdued and simple time. our journey includes visits to Hoi An Market, Hoi An Museum, many of the town’s renowned Ancient Houses which boast a remarkable architectural style, Assembly Halls of Chinese influence, Art Craft Manufacturing and of course the must-see Japanese Covered Bridge. These spots are considered as typical architecture styles in Hoi An and reflect clearly the cross culture among France, Japan, China and Vietnam. Passing over hundreds of years and withstanding the severity of the weather, Hoi An still exists and keeps the ancient and quiet beauty. Once strolling around the ancient city, you will contemplate the simple and rustic life activities, the trellises of windflowers covering around the houses. we dine on a superb lunch in a local restaurant .Early afternoon has us arriving back at our hotel . Relax by the pool or book yourself a massage. Finishing our final overnight stay and this incredible 10 day journey through beautiful Vietnam .
